The location of this hotel is unbeatable - directly on the shore of Lake Akanko. In the morning, waking up to the view of the lake is incredible. the area is also near the shopping street and Ainu village located on top of a snow-covered slope. the breakfast spread is good and the rooms are adequate, with decent bathrooms. the onsen is a great place to relax after a long day exploring.
The staff seemed a bit inattentive and could have been more helpful.

The room was spacious and had a perfect view of the lake and forest. Staff were pleasant and the breakfast buffet was plentiful. The hotel also had a small but amazing outdoor onsen overlooking the lake. Free flow of ice cream and coffee was a nice touch.
Nothing, all excellent.

Amazing stay, beautiful views of the lake, serene surroundings, and excellent service. The hotel had clean rooms, good facilities, free walking poles, and a lovely hot spring. The hotel's location was ideal, located near a shopping street and Ainu Village on top of a snow-covered slope. Additionally, the hotel's direct location on the lake provided great morning walking views. The hotel staff was exceptional, they provided extra muffins for breakfast and local biscuits when checked out. The foot bath was perfect for relaxing those tired feet.
Nothing to fault.

Spent Christmas at a cozy traditional hotel with stunning lake views. the staff was friendly and accommodating, providing us with delicious Japanese breakfast every morning. the onsen was a lovely touch, with free bathrobes and slippers provided.
Although the hotel had a lot of character, the rooms were a bit outdated and could use some updates. the location was a bit far from some of the main attractions in the area, requiring a bit of extra travel time.

Stayed in a hotel by the beautiful Lake Akan and was pleasantly surprised by the affordable rates, fantastic service and amazing location! The authentic Japanese-style room was spacious and comfortable, offering a serene view of the lake. The natural outdoor bath was a highlight, clean and surrounded by natural rocks. The staff was super polite and friendly, even though they didn't speak much English - but that added to the charm. The hotel location was perfect, near the boat pier and shopping area, for those looking for souvenirs and local food.
While the hotel definitely has a charm and offers traditional Japanese hospitality, there are some downsides to consider. The breakfast was included in the package but the choice was limited, with set menus for both days.
